Do you have Cankles too?

Are you like me with big ankles, affectionally known as cankles? When choosing boots regardless of height the focus is on if you can fit over your ankle?? Have you given up wearing dresses because you don’t want anyone to see your huge ankles? The term ‘cankle’, of course, describes an ankle so wide that it merges into the calf above, blighting even the slenderest silhouette.

If you are sure of what I am talking about, see the picture to your right.

You do not have to be overweight to have big ankles. As a matter of fact, when I was in high school and considered very skinny I still had cankles. Again, the picture is a very slender celebrity, but she has cankles.

Celebrities with Cankles

You are not alone. Many famous, beautiful celebrities have cankles.

See some of these beautiful celebrities below:

How to Dress to Slim Down Cankles

Sometimes there is not an option to change the muscular legs or cankles mother nature gave you, but you can make the less noticeable.

Below are some Dressing Tips to magically slim your muscular legs and cankles.

Avoid Flat Shoes: They emphasize your cankles instead wear medium-height heels which make your legs look longer. A good rule of thumb is the wider you cankle the wider of the heel looks best, like a good sturdy wedge. Not into heels then wear a flat with peep toe.

No Ankle Straps: Any strap around your ankles or ties lacing up your calves draws attention to your cankles. Therefore, trying a slingback shoe that wraps at the back of the ankle instead of in front is fine too.

Pointy Toe Perfect: Round-toe shoes are a no-no.

Direct Attention up Top: Wear dark colors on the bottom and bright colors on top. Use bold prints on your upper body, and use fun accessories like scarves and jewelry to draw the eye up. See our new infinity scarf where fashion meets function.

Wear long pants: Hillary Clinton has made pantsuits her trademark, and it’s no wonder. Pants are perfect for hiding her famous “cankles” and will hide yours too. ( thick calves fused at thick ankles).  Your best bet is solid-colored pants in a dark color, but make sure they’re not too skinny. Tight pants will emphasize your calves. Bootcut or wide legs pants help hide the problem. And no cropped pants and capris. They draw the eye to the fullest part of your calves and ankles and make your legs look stumpy.

Don’t let your heavy calves or ankles drag you down! Many of the world’s top athletes, ballerinas, and celebrities have thick legs, but that doesn’t stop them from looking fabulous, so don’t let it stop you either.

Big Feet, You are Not Alone

Not only do I have cankles, but I wear a size 9-10 shoe. I love looking at the clearance shoe areas in stores only to come away empty-handed because all that is left is size 5 and size 6. Therefore, I come to the conclusion that my size is the most popular size.

So, I google the popular shoe size in America and it was 7.5 to 8. I noticed the shoe size correlates to how tall a person is. So, a 5 feet 4-inch female has that shoe size. However, since I am 5 feet 10 inches tall my shoe size is perfect for me.

Who else has big feet? With this in mind, below is a list of famous celebrities with big feet:

The most popular shoe size for women is a size 7.5 or 8. This is because on average most women are about 5 feet 4 inches tall and foot size is usually correlated with how tall a person is.

Mandy Moore, Cindy Crawford, Kendall Jenner, Khloe Kardashian, Lauren Ambrose, Hedi Klum, Lucy Lawless, -Size 10

Paris Hilton

Audrey Hepburn- Size 10.5
