Finally, there is homeschooling for all. Education is an essential part of life. Without a quality education your child/children will be limited in their life choices. As parents, we send our children to school with the full expectation that they will learn literature, mathematics, science and history – subjects that will help them advance their life goals and ambitions. Yet, only to learn of the actual controversial curriculum choices in public schools nationwide, from yoga and religion to sex-ed for kindergarteners.
We need to examine the pros and cons of homeschooling. What support is available, if you choose homeschooling. Life is about choices and one of our greatest choices is the education of our children. The purpose of education is twofold: To teach students useful skills needed in life, but just as important, to teach students how to live which is what good character is all about.
Pros and Cons of Homeschool
The pros and cons of homeschooling are many, but we will consider, in my opinion the main ones. Let’s start with the pros. Homeschool offers and desires more parental involvement. Bullying and safety is not a concern in a homeschool environment verses public schools. Bottom line statistics show that 67% of homeschool children complete their graduation as compared to 59% of public school students.
Next, we will entertain the cons of homeschooling. Public schools offer a more diverse environment than homeschooling. In the majority of cases, public schools are free and provide transportation, as needed. Yet, there is always a cost for homeschooling. Finally, the homeschooled child is more limited to social interaction with peers of their own age.
Support for Homeschooling
Not only is there statistical support for homeschooling, but financial. The National Home Education Research Institute reports that there are more than 2.3 million homeschool students in the United States right now. This figure has been rapidly climbing since 2010, with some years seeing 8% growth. Homeschooling is the traditional educational practice that was once considered an alternative form of instruction, but it is now becoming a mainstream choice for students of all capabilities. Some public schools even offer it as an option for the most gifted and talented students in their district.
Yes, homeschool does have a cost. In most cases, funding is available.

Life is all about CHOICES
Participating in this homeschooling program means that you select the curriculum that is best fit for your child. As parents, you have that right to teach your beliefs with morals and values, as your parents had before you. This still provides a great learning experience for you and your family. Additionally, being part of the homeschooling family, you can be able to teach your children conservatively, with best business practices and guidelines within the learning curriculum. Doesn’t this make more sense that shoving something down their throat that we as parents don’t believe should happen?
Parents need to give their children the ability to think for themselves. This brings out their imagination and thought of how to process each possibility. Why would you tell someone how to think? Let them have their own reason and learn for themselves. This “old school” way of learning creates a greater imagination and gives individuals self-esteem knowing that they can figure it out, given the chance.
They can also learn the basics, or what we all think we all should learn in school. For example, how to balance a checkbook, work for themselves to be their own boss, run a successful business, or just be prepared for adulthood with confidence. Homeschooling with this program is a great choice that guides your child to the path of a positive educational and learning journey.
In Conclusion
The pros and cons of public schools vs homeschooling must be taken from an individual perspective. There is no right or wrong answer that is specific to everyone when comparing these two educational options. Some families are more comfortable with the idea of sending their child to a public school. Others prefer to provide educational opportunities within the structure of their family environment.
What matters most is that each child gets an opportunity to maximize their potential. Choose the option that will do that for your family, and you will have a successful experience either way.
